Spooky Season has Officially Arrived at MC Law!

Here are all the upcoming major events at Mississippi College School of Law

With finals quickly approaching, take a break to indulge in the tricks and treats MC Law has to offer you this month. There are a ton of options for fun, food, and chances to win $100!

The 2L and 3L classes have an opportunity to take professional headshots on October 18th and 25th. Each time slot is 5 minutes long, so if you want to take advantage of this opportunity, visit this link.

On October 23rd MC Law will host Mississippi Blood Bank from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm. This will be a competition between MC Law and Ole Miss Law. So make sure to donate blood and help MC Law win the battle of the blood!

The Women’s Student Bar Association will have its monthly meeting on October 24th. At this meeting, they will have a resume workshop, where attorneys will discuss crafting the perfect resume. To attend this meeting, you must RSVP using this link and bring at least five copies of your resume to receive feedback.

On October 25th, the school is hosting Lawtoberfest! At 11:00 on the back patio, students, faculty, and staff can enjoy food, karaoke, a costume contest, and more! Before or after you enjoy lunch outside,

head to room 150 for the Societies of Environmental Law, Family Law, and Health Law Society to host a discussion on the Asylum Hill Project. Guest speaker Eric Hospodor will discuss the legal process for UMMC to exhume and relocate human remains discovered on UMMC grounds in 2012. Anyone who attends has a chance to win a $100 gift card!

LSBA will be hosting their 5k Motion to Run on October 28th! This is the perfect event to get involved at MC Law. Grab a friend and join the 5k to support Ob ma Magnet School. To sign up for this event, visit this link. Last year, the school raised over $8,000 for the Barrack Obama Magnet School, let's help raise even more this year!

Please bring your friends and family on October 30th to the LSBA’s Trunk or Treat, where multiple student organizations will decorate their vehicles and have fun activities planned for the Obama Magnet School and MC Law families.

Finally, the Health Law Society will partner with ALDF to host a pet costume contest! To enter the contest, follow both ALDF (@aldf_mclaw) and Health Law Society (@mchealthlawsociety) on Instagram, then post a picture of your pet in their costume on your story. Make sure to tag both accounts so that your entry will be counted. The contest winner will be announced on October 31st and will win a $100 gift card!
